plan

Im very happy with how i’ve been doing today, i joined the gym, and ate healthily. I didn’t have time to actually use the gym today unfortunatly but ill definately go tomorrow. I did get some exercise however as I walked not only to the gym and back but to the shop and then carried loads of heavy shopping back.

I have been very good about eating too, i had a yogurt and a cup of tea for breakfast and a bowl of soup for lunch. My friends are coming over tonight and we will probably order pizza which is why i wanted to be extra careful today. I also bought low fat popcorn and crisps so i will hopefully be able not to go overboard on calories.

I’ve been reading more blogs and post here, and i was wondering, is 1500 calories a day too much? There seems to be a lot of people on 1200, plus doing a huge amount of exercise, more then i could ever do. The daily recommendation is 2000 for the average person so i thought 1500 would be fine, but now im not sure, i only really know that its unhealthy to have less than 1000. I’m also only aiming to go to the gym 3 times a week, and people here seem to be going everyday!!

motivation

I finally have something specific to motivate me! I will be going on holiday with 2 good friends of mine in august, just two weeks of sun and sand. The problem is, they are both size 8 and im… er.. not. I dont plan to be a size 8 but at the moment i will look like a whale beside them in a bikini. I have been dieting since january 2nd, before the holiday plan was made but now i have a goal. I have 8 months to lose weight and get in shape and i am determined!!!

I’m not interested in short-term weight loss, i want to be fitter and healthier. I generally do no exercise and i can barely run more than a few metres. I am trying to keep under 1500 calories a day and i will join the gym tomorrow. Im going to try and go at least 3 times a week. My biggest problem any other time trying to get in shape was motivation, ive started exercise classes with friends before and we always stopped going after a few weeks. This time, although i am doing this sort of alone, i hope this website will keep me motivate. The forum posts and blogs i have read have been very inspiring and i will keep reading and posting here to keep me on track. Any advice or help would be really appeciated.

PS. I technically joined this site about a year ago, but it was an extremely stressful year and i never got round to doing anything. My diet offically started january 2nd 2008 ;)
